Raphael Hitzke is an award-winning film director, screenwriter, and producer. His films have been screened at over 30 film festivals across the United States.
His new environmental animation short film, Confetti Tree, is currently in development.
Hitzke’s previous environmental film, BEE, had a successful festival run and won the “Best Dramatic Short” Award at the Sonoma International Film Festival. The film is both a mystery and a love story. It is distributed worldwide by Shorts TV.
His documentary short Vive La Food—about two French chefs in Sacramento—won the “Best of the Best Film Award” at the Tucson Slow Food & Film Festival. The film went on to be screened at multiple festivals across the U.S.
Hitzke’s first short film, Jacques (Just a Little Tenderness), was shown on the opening night of the Sacramento French Film Festival and received the “Audience Award for Best Short Film.”
Hitzke was the marketing coordinator and member of the committee for the Sacramento French Film Festival for 10 years.
He’s passionate about telling positive stories that are both thought-provoking and entertaining.
