Biography
raphael hitzke
A native of France, Raphael Hitzke moved to Sacramento, California in 1999.
Since 2003, he has been the marketing coordinator and member of the committee for the Sacramento French Film Festival.
In 2005, he directed his first short film “Jacques (Just a little tenderness)” that was shown on the 2005 opening night of the Sacramento French Film Festival. The film received the “Audience Award for Best Short Film.”
“Vive La Food” was his third short film and first documentary. It is a mouthwatering portrait of two French chefs who moved to Sacramento.
The film won the “Best of Best Film Award” at the Tucson Slow Food & Film Festival in 2009 and was shown across the country in many festivals.
He currently has a short thriller about honey bees in development.
